The following instructions are generic and will work successfully for most Auto Manufacturers and Door Opener Manufacturers. You may need to consult either HomeLink, or your owners manuals if these instructions do not work for you.

There are two separate phases needed to programming your vehicles built-in, HomeLink remote to work your garage door opener.

First Phase - The vehicle must be programmed with the type of remote it will be emulating. These procedures can be found in your vehicles owners manual or you can follow the generic instructions below.

Second Phase -  Your garage door opener must be programmed to accept the signal transmitted from the vehicle as a new remote. You can follow the "Adding Additional Transmitter" instructions found in your openers operating manual or you can attempt the generic instructions below

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH as well as property damage, Be sure people and property, including yourself and your vehicle are NOT in the travel path of the garage door and that nothing will be struck when the door attempts to close or open !     read more safety precautions

RECOMMENDED STEP: (if any of the buttons are already programmed to work other units/devices, skip this step because it clears the memory of all 3 buttons)

To clear the memory of all three buttons in the HomeLink transmitter, hold down the two outside buttons (1 & 3, 2 being the one directly under the house logo/light) for approx. 20 seconds until the red light begins to flash rapidly. Release both buttons.

Phase 1

Be sure people and property, including yourself and your vehicle are NOT in the travel path of the garage door and that nothing will be struck when the door attempts to close or open !

Phase 2 - Only perform the following steps after successfully completing Phase 1.

A second person will make the following steps quicker and easier. Be sure people and property, including yourself and your vehicle are NOT in the travel path of the garage door and that nothing will be struck when the door attempts to close or open !
